Introducing the TexMoot 2019 VIP Panelists
At 3:30pm on Saturday, Jan. 19th, TexMoot attendees will get to listen to special guests Luann Jennings, Shawn Marchese, Corey Olsen, and Alan Sisto talk about where oral genres survive and thrive today and how to find their own “voice” in an oral medium. They will each present briefly, then take questions. Here are little bios of the panelists:
Luann Jennings holds a BFA in acting from Baylor University and an MFA in directing from University of Tennessee—Knoxville. She studied arts entrepreneurship, policy, and leadership, at NYU, Columbia, Lincoln Center, and National Arts Strategies. She has directed theatrical performances in Atlanta and New York City and now focuses on community development through arts entrepreneurship, leadership, advocacy, and education.
Shawn Marchese is co-host of The Prancing Pony Podcast who finds a constant source of delight in Tolkien’s invented languages. Pursuing by day a rather Bagginsy professional career, Shawn has indulged his Tookish side by moonlighting as an independent film producer, writer, and blogger.
Corey Olsen, “The Tolkien Professor,” holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from Columbia University. He is author of Exploring J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and Founder & President of Signum University.
